What kind of hardware do you need to hook up drum mics to a computer for recording?
The drummer for my band just got a set of drum mics, so that we can record some music. I've done a little bit of recording with Garageband before, on my mac, but i have no idea what kind of hardward i'll need to hook seven drum mics into my computer. I cant wait to start recording, but i have no idea where to start with setting things up. Any help?
the easiest thing would be to get a line mixer. you can get a cheap 8-line mixer for probably around 100 bucks. you want to run all the drum mics into that then adjust the sound from there. once you have the sound the way you want it, you can run it into your computer using one line, then your entire drum tracks will be on one line. there are other ways to do it, but this is the easiest and least expensive.
